Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) in South Africa and Mozambique’s Caminhos De Ferros De Mocambique (CFM) have expanded the seamless operation of trains between the two countries to include chrome and ferrochrome flows at three trains per day starting from September 1st. The first phase of run-through trains from South Africa to TCM Maputo in Mozambique resulted in a 23% increase in magnetite volumes, despite disruptions on the rail line, including security issues and recent derailments.
